"For us, our house is not insentient matter—it has a heart, and a soul, and eyes to see us with; and approvals, and solicitudes, and deep sympathies; it is of us, and we are in its confidence, and live in its grace and in the peace of its benediction. We never come home from an absence that its face does not light up and speak out its eloquent welcome—and we can not enter it unmoved."
—Mark Twain, 1896

The fortunate one

Skipping through life is what most of us do. Others run, some jog. It is our nature. Purtroppo, (unfortunately) it is our reality. Ah, but then there are some who choose to saunter. These are the ones who live deep within the burrow of the rabbit hole…. only coming up long enough to pass along the message that is almost always misunderstood.

These are the people who are not at odds with the world. They are content to be within their own thoughts, within their own company.

These are the people who live in the moment. The ones, others refer to as living ‘round the bend’.

These are the people who meander and breathe the air, and pause by the open window to look inside and hear the voices that live within.

Is there someone in your life who takes the time to look inside your window and hear your voice? Or perhaps, it is you who strolls. It is you who catches every scent and looks in every window.

Perhaps, my friend, it is you who are the fortunate one.
