There’s a full moon tonight. Why am I not surprised? Since Sunday my mood has been rather, well let’s just say, I’ve been out of body. I should have known. About the full moon, I mean.
Despite the fact that there is no evidence of a significant correlation between lunar phases and neurological-chemical changes in the body, there are numerous links between human behavior and external natural cycles. Simply put, the term Lunatic, derived from the term Lunar, did not come about by happenstance.
High positive ion concentrations in the air are associated with the full moon and cause lethargy which in turn manifests itself as melancholy. So when I say I am not surprised there’s a full moon, it’s because my body has been telling me to expect it. I wasn’t paying attention. Of course.
"There are nights when the wolves are silent, and only the moon howls."
~ George Carlin
Keith is on his way to California, which is just as well. I like this time alone especially now. Candles are lit in an otherwise dark room, casting remnants of flickering lights against the walls. Midnight Incense burns, leisurely filling the quiet room with its perfume as I slowly turn inward, into the enlightenment of self.
When we become alert to our surroundings and are able to identify the root of the character change, we are able to think with clarity, putting in motion the needed remedy, be it through a flow of calmness or with a jagged little pill.
‘Know thyself.’ *
A connotation that goes beyond quotidian facts.
But true nonetheless.
ENJOY YOUR FULL MOON NIGHT
