"For us, our house is not insentient matter—it has a heart, and a soul, and eyes to see us with; and approvals, and solicitudes, and deep sympathies; it is of us, and we are in its confidence, and live in its grace and in the peace of its benediction. We never come home from an absence that its face does not light up and speak out its eloquent welcome—and we can not enter it unmoved."
—Mark Twain, 1896

and the livin' is easy.....

While it is not officially summertime, bar-b-que pineapple chicken, sweet corn-on-the-cob grilling outdoors, and Risotto simmering in a pot makes for a good mirage. Next to me sit’s a Stoli’ Martini ~ two olives, and, well, some things just do not require an explanation!

Today I visited with George who took me on a tour of his newly formed Greenhouse. I dug up some Mint and Rosemary from my yard as a contribution for the ‘christening’. Neighbors tidied up their yards after all the rain we had, and new feed went out for the birds. We were all out and about enjoying the warm dry day.

The spousal unit and Oz went to Winchester Bay Jetty where Oz had his run-ins with some horses on the beach, and of course, frolicked in surf and sand. The town is still ours.

We were enjoying this day so much that neither of us thought to snap a photo, so in homage to the good ole’ summertime, I post a photograph of Miliana.
