"For us, our house is not insentient matter—it has a heart, and a soul, and eyes to see us with; and approvals, and solicitudes, and deep sympathies; it is of us, and we are in its confidence, and live in its grace and in the peace of its benediction. We never come home from an absence that its face does not light up and speak out its eloquent welcome—and we can not enter it unmoved."
—Mark Twain, 1896

HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYONE!

The air is filling with holiday mood as Thanksgiving is only a few days away. Talk of turkey, and family gatherings are monopolizing conversations for an American tradition.

Thanksgiving dates back to the American Christians in the year 1623 when, after the harvest crops were gathered in November, Governor William Bradford in Plymouth, Massachusetts proclaimed:

"All ye Pilgrims with your wives and little ones, do gather at the Meeting House, on the hill… there to listen to the pastor, and render Thanksgiving to the Almighty God for all His blessings."

This is what Thanksgiving is: whether a four course complete meal, or a Jack-in-the-Box hamburger, being together in humble gratefulness to Almighty God for the harvest He has bestowed, whatever that harvest may be.

Thank God for what you have and be grateful in it. Enjoy your holiday!
