"For us, our house is not insentient matter—it has a heart, and a soul, and eyes to see us with; and approvals, and solicitudes, and deep sympathies; it is of us, and we are in its confidence, and live in its grace and in the peace of its benediction. We never come home from an absence that its face does not light up and speak out its eloquent welcome—and we can not enter it unmoved."
—Mark Twain, 1896

For the first time in over a week of black skies, wind and rain, stars dominate our solar system to the edge of the unknown. With clarity and a blanket of cold crispness, a sparkling radiance from within galaxy clusters peer down.

As I look into the waning night’s sky, the more mystified I become. Random thoughts take wing and formulate in front of my eyes. Is it true, for instance, that there is a Dark Energy accelerating the expansion of the Universe? An energy from a quantum vacuum?

If my knowledge of Physics serves me correctly, despite the tendency of gravity to push matter together causing the universe to contract, galaxies are flying away from each other at an alarming rate of speed. Is it possible that we are expanding? That something is sucking us out into the infinite?

Look-up my dear readers.
Don't let the bright lights fool you.
Look-up into the never-ending, and marvel.
