"For us, our house is not insentient matter—it has a heart, and a soul, and eyes to see us with; and approvals, and solicitudes, and deep sympathies; it is of us, and we are in its confidence, and live in its grace and in the peace of its benediction. We never come home from an absence that its face does not light up and speak out its eloquent welcome—and we can not enter it unmoved."
—Mark Twain, 1896

Percolations

In just two days, Eve and Roarke will be home. Having taken a much needed vacation in Ireland, the duo soon finds out that murder never takes a vacation.

I’ll be waiting, of course, as time runs out on another innocent victim’s life and NYPSD Lieutenant Eve Dallas’ investigation takes us into the perverted heart of madness….

This is number 31 in the In-Death series written by J.D. Robb aka Nora Roberts. And, while I’m not too keen on the Romance novels that Nora Roberts writes, I love the juxtaposition of the Romance/Suspense, Thriller Police Procedural books that J.D. Robb pens.

Go figure.
