"For us, our house is not insentient matter—it has a heart, and a soul, and eyes to see us with; and approvals, and solicitudes, and deep sympathies; it is of us, and we are in its confidence, and live in its grace and in the peace of its benediction. We never come home from an absence that its face does not light up and speak out its eloquent welcome—and we can not enter it unmoved."
—Mark Twain, 1896

Takin' one breath at a time

Today, I ventured out on my own. Thank you very much. I mustered-up some courage, indulged, sucked in my breath and headed straight for North Bend. I thought, half way there, that I would turn around and go home, but sweet Jesus had me covered. I mastered a small portion of my domain today. And it felt great!

I went to the Plant Lady’s house (not to be confused with the Garden Lady, who lives two doors down)….Shirley and I had such a wonderful visit. We walked through the garden behind the fence of her North Bend House, and talked about everything 'plant'. Her house is situated just on the other side of this bridge on the side of the mountain.

She gave me a good idea for my Hens and Chicks, and other succulents which I will implement tomorrow.

Oh, don’t get me wrong, I love my jaunts with the spousal unit, but sometimes a gal’s gotta breathe on her own. I had no schedule, no time table to follow - I just did what I felt like doing at the time I did it.
What a great day I had today!!!
Thanks Ilva.
Would not have been able to do it without you.
