"For us, our house is not insentient matter—it has a heart, and a soul, and eyes to see us with; and approvals, and solicitudes, and deep sympathies; it is of us, and we are in its confidence, and live in its grace and in the peace of its benediction. We never come home from an absence that its face does not light up and speak out its eloquent welcome—and we can not enter it unmoved."
—Mark Twain, 1896

Can someone tell me who this is?

Well hello my pretty.
What a pleasant surprise!

I don’t believe I know you.

This evening, as per my usual, Oz and I meandered through the garden, and lo and behold there she was in magnificent splendor!
I could swear I planted yellow Iris bulbs in this spot last season, but this is not an Iris.
I am beside myself to know her name.
Is anyone on familiar terms with this lovely lady?

Winnie seems to think that this beautiful lady is a member of the Iris family!
