"For us, our house is not insentient matter—it has a heart, and a soul, and eyes to see us with; and approvals, and solicitudes, and deep sympathies; it is of us, and we are in its confidence, and live in its grace and in the peace of its benediction. We never come home from an absence that its face does not light up and speak out its eloquent welcome—and we can not enter it unmoved."
—Mark Twain, 1896

EEK...I'm committing actual labor!

I took some inspiration from my darling cousin Mark-in-California this morning, got myself dressed in some old clothes and began the preparation necessary to get my living room painted. Long time coming as I’ve wanted to do this for a year now.

While I was pulling open the drapes, I noticed that the Rhododendron on the front corner of my house had exploded overnight so, of course, I had to document the event. Enjoy this beautiful sight of nature while I paint the salon…..ciao
