"For us, our house is not insentient matter—it has a heart, and a soul, and eyes to see us with; and approvals, and solicitudes, and deep sympathies; it is of us, and we are in its confidence, and live in its grace and in the peace of its benediction. We never come home from an absence that its face does not light up and speak out its eloquent welcome—and we can not enter it unmoved."
—Mark Twain, 1896

Tranquil harmony

Breathing-in the soft aromas on this chilled afternoon, I sit, contentedly in the sun, anticipating the arrival of HRH, the Duchess of Spring, and the delicious thaw of winter. A cool breeze rustles the bare branches of the Cherry Trees in my backyard, and in the distance, I hear the intermittent sounds of Seagulls and the faint sounds of a frog chorus wafting down from oft the mountain. Children are playing somewhere as their laughter - and the mouth-watering fragrance of the ocean drifts about on the wind.
It is utterly peaceful.
