"For us, our house is not insentient matter—it has a heart, and a soul, and eyes to see us with; and approvals, and solicitudes, and deep sympathies; it is of us, and we are in its confidence, and live in its grace and in the peace of its benediction. We never come home from an absence that its face does not light up and speak out its eloquent welcome—and we can not enter it unmoved."
—Mark Twain, 1896

Are we having fun yet?

Yes, that’s right!!! I succumbed, I acquiesced, I caved, I gave in, I surrendered. Geeese Louise. Though I have no clue what I’m doing in Facebook. It just looks like a glorified email to me. Except that in Facebook everyone gets to read your emails!

I suppose I’ll eventually see the point, if there is even one to see. I suppose I’ll eventually see the fun in it, if that’s what I’m so inclined to have. Help me out here. What is the point to Facebook? Can’t I accomplish the same thing through a private email?

I logged on two days ago, just to get an update on one of my friends, and man, next thing I know, I’m bombarded. Is there a Facebook Spy who just lurks around waiting for you to log-on so as to tell your family and friends, “ She’s on!!?”

And today I get another ‘Notification’ that someone has posted to my ‘Wall’, so when I log in, to look – a little Chat Box intrudes, and lo and behold one of the snoop sisters has found me! I wasn’t even in there for a minute!

Friends and family in Cyber land beware because I have my little spies too! Or is that the point?

Fun? Okay, all right…… I'm ready. I’ll give it a shot.
