It was such a glorious day that nearly everyone on the street was out and about. George (across the street) gave me some rose bushes, which I dug up myself, and some rocks from his pond, which I loaded into my wheel barrel (he injured his neck and can't do this kind of work anymore). George doesn’t like roses, and is getting rid of the pond, so I lucked out.
Garden Lady came by admiring the Delphinium (below: blue), Salvia (above) and Ranunculus (below: red, yellow and orange) that I planted near the front door, and she gave me some tips on how to keep the Deer away. The Delphinium attracts birds, and Hummingbirds love the Salvia.
I just love the burst of colors at my front door: Red, yellow, orange, blue and violet. Everything seems to be shaping up rather nicely. I’m ready for all the birds. I’ve given them a Bird Bath to play in, and they have a feeding tray filled with Bird Seed. We can see the Bird Feeder from the kitchen window, and we've already hosted to some Sparrows.Martha, who lives next door to George, on the corner, was out picking weeds. She has lived in that same house for over 60 years! And, of course, Ron (Garden Lady’s husband) was out scouting the neighborhood for Yard Sales.

I just love it here!
