"For us, our house is not insentient matter—it has a heart, and a soul, and eyes to see us with; and approvals, and solicitudes, and deep sympathies; it is of us, and we are in its confidence, and live in its grace and in the peace of its benediction. We never come home from an absence that its face does not light up and speak out its eloquent welcome—and we can not enter it unmoved."
—Mark Twain, 1896

Levity to keep it real.....

Haven’t been able to organize my thoughts long enough to get out a post lately. How about that? A writer without words. As it were, I’ve been groping around for things to keep it fresh, and since I was looking at my Post Cards the other day, I thought, why not? But the pictures are just fluff: nothing thought-provoking or insightful.

Today is the first day, in weeks it seems, that I actually can work in my garden. It’s been raining here to beat the band. I potted some Geraniums, planted Roses, Rosemary and Mint so far. Oh, and I potted the coolest looking Hen and Chicks.

Of course, I put the Rosemary by the Garden Gate. Now I just have to get some Lavender as a companion to my Rosemary, and my garden should flourish. Or so the saying goes.

Anyway, here I am taking a break from the feel of earth on my hands, dirt still under my nails. There’s nothing better to make a person feel alive. Tomorrow, if the weather holds, I am going to take a drive to Sparrow Park Beach and dig up some Ferns, load up some rocks and look around the beach for some large pieces of Driftwood. Making a Fern Garden under the Kitchen window as they like shade, and there is a large tree that side of the yard.

Well, guess I’ll get back outside to see what other mischief I can get into!
