"For us, our house is not insentient matter—it has a heart, and a soul, and eyes to see us with; and approvals, and solicitudes, and deep sympathies; it is of us, and we are in its confidence, and live in its grace and in the peace of its benediction. We never come home from an absence that its face does not light up and speak out its eloquent welcome—and we can not enter it unmoved."
—Mark Twain, 1896

A work in progress/teaser

The USB Drive was saved so there was no fear that the story he is writing wouldn’t be there. While it started out a bit amateurish, it is evolving into it’s own, and the dots are starting to connect.

As his Editor, I have seen the dullness begin to take on a polish, albeit not quite shiny yet, but nonetheless hues are beginning to emerge.

Set in modern day, mythical characters with extraordinary powers endeavor to follow a nightmare in real time. Three humans, part angels/part demons, and one very intellectual canine step into the mind (literally) of the chronicler, in an attempt to solve the mystery of who or what is trying to eliminate him.

Azreal’s relationship with Xero, his 500 year old dog, is both amusing as well as on-the-edge-of-your-seat. Our relationship with the both of them, through telepathic communication, is side bending. The other protagonists are Hailey: Azreal’s love interest who is also a store clerk/Seer; and Loki: a dark mysterious character cloaked in a black trench coat, who is Xero’s silent sentinel, and is always in the shadows when trouble lurks.

Within the nightmare two more characters prowl, with powers yet to be known to the trio who enter their world. Unknown to them that is, but not to Xero who knows exactly who they are.

Without so much as a ‘fingerprint’ of mine on this manuscript, I assist in the preparation for publication ONLY. The adventure belongs to Stephen, and will reach fruition by year's end. I look forward to it.

Caveat: Characters and story line subject to change, and the Title is a work in progress.
